Peter Fisher LLB

Peter was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia in May 1979 from which time he commenced practising in the Northern Territory of Australia until 1985. From 1985, Peter was a partner of the firm, then known as Poveys, and continued with that firm until February 1992. His specialty was commercial law with the emphasis on transactional work including: acquisition and sale of hotels, wineries, and pastoral properties; negotiation with the Northern Territory Government, and takeover of the Alice Springs Casino; Shopping Centre Developments, Property Development and Residential Developments; and acting for a number of commercial lenders with respect to preparation of securities. Since 1992, Peter has had his own practice of Peter Fisher Lawyers, and now has a core focus of estate planning, estate administration, and estate litigation, with the provision of associated commercial work for our clients.

Catherine O’Donovan

Catherine was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of South Australia in December 1979, and commenced practice as a commercial solicitor. From 1984 to 1989 she was partner in the law firm, Daenke O’Donovan. From 1990 to 2003, while raising her 4 sons, Catherine was involved in legal education with UniSA, TAFE and the Law Society. Catherine still assists, on a regular basis, in the training of new lawyers in property law, and wills and estates law in the Law Society’s Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Catherine recommenced practice as a commercial solicitor in 2003. From 2007, Catherine has worked with Peter Fisher Lawyers as a senior solicitor specializing in estate litigation. She also has a keen interest in PLAIN ENGLISH drafting and ensures our wills and other documents are as ‘user-friendly’ as possible.

Peter Earl

Peter Earl has recently been admitted to the Supreme Court to practice as a solicitor. Peter helps people with financial matters including Family Law property settlements, trusts, wills and estate, and Self Managed Superannuation. His expertise has been developed over 15 years as a Certified Financial Planner, which is now applied to legal issues and matters. Peter helps clients by liaising with their existing financial advisers. He is also our Business Operations Manager.

Helen Nevin

Helen did her secretarial training at Muirden Business College. In 1987 Helen started work at Ross & McCarthy working in the SGIC department (litigation). Helen has also worked at Finlaysons for a number of years mainly in the areas of workers compensation and litigation. Helen has worked in the areas of workers compensation, litigation, conveyancing, family law, wills and estates. Completed Certificate in Paralegal Studies in May 2000. Helen commenced working at Peter Fisher Lawyers in March 2007 as office manager.

Sarah Lowden

Sarah has worked in the legal industry as a legal secretary/assistant for many years in both large and small firms, preferring smaller firms with a more personal and friendly approach. She has experience in a variety of areas including wills and estates, will disputes, inheritance claims, family law, personal injury and work injury matters.

Chelsea Steward

Chelsea Steward is our Receptionist who will be the first person you speak to when you contact our office. Chelsea’s cheery manner will be evident, making your experience with our office a comfortable, and respectful one. Chelsea has had three years in customer services and understands that our focus is always on your needs, handling your enquiry in an efficient and prompt manner.
